Industry Buzz

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is receiving lots of industry buzz for taking on the traditional insurance-based family practice model. By replacing the current model of using health insurance for primary care, with a subscription-based monthly fee, DPC practices substantially lower their overhead--which leads to better--and more affordable--costs to patients.

The Article highights some of the benefits a DPC practice can provide to both patients and physicians.

Direct primary care also comes with near-constant access to a doctor — talking via FaceTime while the family is on vacation, or taking an emergency trip to the office to get stitches after a bad fall on a Saturday night. Because direct primary care doesn't take insurance, there are no copays and no costs beyond the monthly fee.
